Joe EdwardsCongratulations to Alternative School Teacher Joseph Edwards who was recognized as the FCPS 2021 Outstanding Non-Region Outstanding Secondary New Teacher and one of the six finalists for the FCPS Outstanding Secondary New Teacher at this year's FCPS Honors event, held at Jiffy Lube Live on June 9th.

Walking into Mr. Edwards’ classroom is an uplifting and affirming experience for both students and colleagues. Joe consistently displays a positive attitude and humorous disposition while working to create a welcoming environment where every person feels included. While many students at TSRC Alexandria enter the classroom facing numerous challenges, Mr. Edwards gives students a clean slate -  treating each child with positivity, optimism, and enthusiasm. Joe works not only to cultivate positive and meaningful relationships with students, but with colleagues as well. He is always willing to lend a hand and is the first to accept advice and feedback as he continues his journey to be the most effective educator he can be.

Congratulations to all of our staff members who were recognized at this year's FCPS Honors Ceremony!
